Bruins vs. Canadians: Rask in net tonight?

By Nick Tavares

Tuukka Rask was the first goalie on the ice this morning for the Bruins’ skate, but John Bishop on the Bruins’ twitter feed reported that he left the ice after being hit high with a shot. Whether or not he still gets the start tonight remains to be seen. Rask was in the net for Boston’s 3-1 loss on Nov. 11, stopping 38 of 41 shots.

Patrice Bergeron will be back (he missed Saturday’s 3-2 OT loss vs. Pittsburgh with a personal matter) and Mark Recchi is expected to play (he sat out yesterday’s practice). With Steven Kampfer (concussion) out and Andrew Ference questionable, expect these lines tonight:

Forwards:

17 Lucic … 46 Krecji … 18 Horton

63 Marchand … 37 Bergeron … 28 Recchi

49 Peverly … 23 Kelly … 73 Ryder

19 Seguin/20 Paille … 11 Campbell … 22 Thornton

Defense:

33 Chara … 43 Bartkowski

44 Seidenberg … 12 Kaberle

54 McQuaid … 55 Boychuck

Goal:

40 Rask

30 Thomas

With Montreal battling to stay in the playoff picture and Boston eying Philadelphia for the top spot in the conference, a series that always has a playoff atmosphere should have both teams amped up to play. Of course, the last time these two locked up, this happened. It should be a good one up at the Bell Centre, regardless of who’s in net.
